Project Update
Under Our Wings is a program of the Quilts of Valor Foundation. Sheep Camp Quilt Supply has been working on a special event for Under Our Wings and the Community Service Event is the result.
This special event will take place on Friday, September 23 and Saturday, September 24 at the Heritage Hall (old 4-H building) at the Fremont County Fairgrounds on South Federal Boulevard in Riverton. In this quilting event, an experienced sewer/quilter will be paired with a new or beginning sewer/quilter. The team will then complete a simple, lap-size quilt top which, when quilted and bound, will be given to a disabled/wounded warrior who served in the Iraq, Afghanistan or Vietnam war. Fun, games, food, and door prizes will be given to participants. There is no fee to participate. All funding will be provided through business donations.
If you are a beginning sewer or would like to be a beginning quilter/sewer, please contact the shop for full information on how you can join us at this event! We'd love to have your participation, and you may just find that you really like to make quilts!!
Also, this will be a perfect time for a mother/daughter, grandmother/granddaughter, or even a father/son, granddad/grandson weekend. This activity is appropriate for students ages 9 and up, as long as they are paired with their family member, guardian, or perhaps a Girl Scout or 4-H leader.
To donate your time, to participate, or to purchase a quilt top kit to be made at the event, please contact the shop at 307-856-1468.
