Quilts of Valor

The Sheep Camp Quilters meet the 3rd Thursday of each month from 10:00 am until we get tired, or until 5:00 pm, whichever comes first!

The group makes quilt tops, sends them for quilting, makes presentation bags for each quilt, applies labels and writes notes of thanks to our wounded warriers!

This group is currently looking for NEW members.  Call Stephanie at 307-856-1468 if you think you can join the group -- even if you can't make it every month -- to make QOV's for our soldiers.

Everyone is invited to help us out, whether sewing, ironing, or cutting fabric, all skill levels can do this project!

Under Our Wings
"A Community Service Event"

This is the highlight of our year at Sheep Camp. On
Friday, September 23 and Saturday, September 24, Sheep Camp Quilt Supply hosted the largest event we’ve ever dreamed about. This community service event introduced new (novice) sewers/quilters to the joy of quilt-making while paired with an experienced (mentor) sewer/quilter. These duos pieced quilt tops for Fremont County Servicemen and Servicewomen who put their lives on the line in today’s wars.

County businesses co-hosted this event by donating the quilt kits and other items.

Donations are accepted and used for our Quilts of Valor’s distribution of quilts to our troops.  Adults and students (grades 5 and up, accompanied by an adult) were all welcome as participants in this activity.

Update on the "Under Our Wings" Project

Lea, Chestine, and I want to thank each and every one of you who participated in our first “Under Our Wings” event! We had over 40 participants making 25 quilt tops on Friday and Saturday, September 23/24. It was an amazing thing to see the Heritage Hall at the Fairgrounds filled with ladies and gentlemen helping each other to make red, white, and blue quilt tops for our veterans! Thanks so much to our sponsors as well – we couldn’t have accomplished any of this without you! They were: Co-Sponsor and 3-Star General Contributor: Rocky Mountain Business Services; Major General Contributors: The Breadboard, Short Construction, The Caterers (Susan Skidmore, Rowena Bland); Staff Sargeant Contributors: Fabrizius Insurance Agency, Mike & Kathi Miller, Jim Logan, Devon Energy, Sweetwater Garden Company, Berg Accounting, Natural Health Solutions – Dr. Walter Conard, D.C., N.M.D., and Private First Class Contributors: Dennis & Heather Christensen, Rodney’s Collision & Custom Center, Joanna Circle – United Methodist Women, Cooper Consulting, Frank & Jeannie Tanner, Chestine Brohm, Prudy Shelley, Cinde Pfisterer, Designs by M.E., Butch & Margie Metcalf, Cynthia & LeRoy Griewahn, Lea Delay, Suzanne Allen, Matt Geraud, and Central Wyoming College Student Senate. Also, a huge thanks go to our volunteer quilters: Laura Trenbeath, Cinde Pfisterer, Chestine Brohm, Matt Geraud, MaryEllen/Tristan Roylance, and Carol Anne Hopkins.

Raffle Quilt for Quilts of Valor

We have a beautiful quilt on display in the shop

(and seen here) that is being raffled off by the Quilts of Valor group so we will be able to continue to pay for shipping quilts overseas to military hospitals in Afghanistan.  We hope to also receive enough donations to pay for incidental purchases that benefit the making of quilts for our war-wounded. Please come take a look at the quilt and purchase a ticket or 6!

Tickets are $5 each or you may purchase 6 for $20!!
