Time for an Advertisement!!

Quilting from Sheep Camp is offering a Christmas quilting special. Any quilt arriving in the shop from now through December 5 that will be quilted with an all-over design (we have thousands!) we are guaranteeing completion in time for Christmas gift giving AND at 10% off the normal price! Now is the perfect time to get those unfinished tops made into quilts and given to the kids, grandkids, or just slip one under the tree addressed to YOU! If we have a HUGE response, we will have to cut off the acceptance date early so that we can still guarantee Christmas completion. For the earliest return of your quilts being mailed away, bring in your quilts ASAP!

STRIP POKER

Strip Poker night will be held on Friday, December 30 from 6:00 to 9:00. Bring a party finger food to share (you know: Swedish Meatballs, Lil’ Smokies, Chex Mix, Chips/Dip, etc.) as we close out 2011 in the company of friends. You will also need approximately 40-60 or more 2 ½” x width of fabric strips for wagering on your poker hands. If you don’t know how to play poker it is no big deal! We learn as we go, laugh, have fun, and try to steal a few strips from the neighbor’s pile when they’re away from the table getting food/drink!!! Oops, wasn’t I supposed to tell? Drinks, decks of cards, and a warm, cozy room with lots of tables and chairs will be provided. I hope you’ll join us as we bid adieu to the Old Year! There is No Fee, but please call me and let me know you’ll be attending so I can prepare enough goodies for all. If you don’t have any 2 ½” x WOF (approx. 42”) strips, we will be happy to cut some for you!

Free Block Program

3rd Saturday of each month

Fee: $10 for the initial block.

Return it completed next month to receive the next block free (see rules below).

A new Free Block program

-will be geared to the more advanced piecer and will begin in January. Matt has come up with a fun, creative idea that he hopes you will enjoy. “Matt’s Stash-Buster BOM” will be ready for preview at the Cookie Exchange in December. Here is how this program will work. For a start-up fee of $5 participants will receive fabric and a pattern to make a 5” block. Yes, that’s right, a 5” block. Next, it is your job to build your own 12” finished size block (12 ½” raw block size) using your own fabric for the balance of the block along with the completed 5” block. Bring this finished block to show and tell on the 3rd Saturday of the next month and receive another set of fabric/5” block pattern to complete for the next month. This program will last for 4 months, giving you enough blocks for a table runner.

Free Block Rules

The third Saturday of each month is our “Free Block” day. Please choose one color-way (either “Original” or “Thimbleberries”).  There can be no changing colors after your first month. A $10 fee will begin your journey and each successive month will be free as long as you bring in your completed block. You may come in on the 3rd Saturday of the month (or the Friday or Monday before and after that date) to show your finished block and to pick up the free one for the new month. If you are unable to complete the block, or if you neglect to bring in your completed block on the appointed days, you may purchase the new month’s edition for a fee of $5. If weather, illness or some other event keeps you away on the appointed days, please call ahead of time or on that Saturday to let me know you will be late bringing in your finished block, but it must be brought in before closing on the following (4th) Saturday. If you do not bring in your completed block, if you do not call ahead that you are unable to come in, or if you do not come in on one of the days set aside for this project, as noted above, you will be charged $5 for the next block in the series.
